Most produce is grown on location: broccoli, cauliflower, red cabbage, collards, kale, swiss chard, romaine, oakleaf and bibb lettuces, five varieties of peppers, four varieties of tomatoes. Our citrus grove is non-certified organic. We grow many non-certified organic vegetables at our farm, including cucumbers, bell peppers, okra, strawberries, and many more. Gamble Creek Farm grows over 30 varieties of crops using a combination of conventional hydroponics and certified organic field production. Where to find: The farm also offers pick-your-own opportunities throughout the season and a limited farm stand open to non-members. It is operated as a CSA. Members receive a quantity of 6-9 different vegetables every week for 26 weeks. Where to find: Six pick-up locations in Sarasota and Bradenton for CSA members. There is also a market at the farm on Sundays, 11:00am-3:00pm in season. We grow a variety of items, but we are well known for our strawberries.We implement many organic practices on our farm. Where to find: At the Sarasota Farmer's Market and the Phillippi Farmhouse Market. We will also open our fields for “u-pick” mid-Feb through March. Hunsader Farms 5500 CR 675 941-322-2168 We pick our homegrown vegetables daily so they are always fresh. When it is u-pick season you can go right out into our field and pick them yourself. Lady Moon Farms Punta Gorda, FL 717-369-2113 Lady Moon Farms is the largest grower of organic produce on the East Coast with farms located in Chambersburg, PA, Punta Gorda, FL and Bainbridge, GA. Where to find: At Whole Foods Market Sarasota. Mr. Citrus Organics and Vegetables 1548 SW Addison Ave 800-201-8293 The 17-acre farm has a large garden of mixed vegetables with three acres of citrus grove. The production area rotates crops from year to year. Sometimes black eyed peas, then green bush beans with other southern row crops are grown during the planting season.
